![]() Grinding is almost never a fulfilling experience, and can attest how not having JP Boost equipped felt ‘bad’ because I knew I was losing out on JP. There is nothing worse than wasting time over senseless tedium. I completely agree on JP Boost / Treasure Finder / Controlled Encounters. LION TWEAKS ZIP MODI stumbled onto this reddit just tonight and have been meaning to replay FFT!īeing an unrelenting fan of FFT, your mod looks really promising and I’m definitely going to give it a shot! I’ve been meaning to do another playthrough and your mod gives me the perfect reason to! Once that was verified, I deleted the dialogue choice again, and now the feature works the way it was always intended to. I tested it by restoring the dialogue choice and making sure that no matter which I chose, Ramza would ignore it and choose the affirmative action. The fix in v2.01 is to insert a command that forces the variable to the correct value in place of the original command that brought up the dialogue choice. This was the case I missed, because in all my playthroughs I got the correct branch, so I wrongly figured that the variable was already initializing to the correct default value somewhere in the event anyway. So if your variable was already the wrong value from other crap that happened in the past, then your event was "stuck" taking that wrong branch. Normally the dialogue choice sets a variable to either 0 or 1 based on the answer you chose, then later in the event script the value of that variable determines the selected branch. The problem was that I deleted the dialogue choice but didn't touch anything that had to do with the variables under the hood. However, salted_crackerz reported that their Ramza was answering incorrectly - automatically selecting the wrong choice and locking out the extra content. So instead, the dialogue choice doesn't come up and Ramza simply answers correctly. Whether to purchase Aerith's flower or not.Īnswering incorrectly would lock you out of the side quests (which also locked you out of recruiting several characters and gaining several unique and multiplayer items). In v2.00, one of the new changes removes two dialogue choices from the game that existed only to hose the player. Here are the details on the nasty bug in v2.00 (which was discovered and reported by reddit user salted_crackerz. …and much more! Please consult the readme file for all the details! Optional Feature: No random battle level scaling Optional Feature: Only fight random battles when you want to Multiplayer items are obtainable in the campaign Treasure Hunter always in effect and always finds the rare item Though there are many changes, each is relatively small, ensuring that the core experience still “feels” like the same game that we all know and love. War of the Lions Tweak is a quality-of-life improvement mod for Final Fantasy Tactics - The War of the Lions designed to make the game more fun and less annoying to play. Status effects that can only target characters on the same height (like Haste) have slightly increased vertical tolerance, so that they can be used on rougher terrain. This was motivated by my many, many playthroughs in which I completed all the content and still hadn't unlocked these jobs. Job prerequisites for Dark Knight and Mime reduced even further. You can of course still get them "early" by using Poach. You can now buy the Poach-only items from shops at the very end of the game (right before the point of no return). Your save file will be compatible, so you can simply proceed from where you left off. LION TWEAKS ZIP ISOIf you downloaded v2.00, please download v2.01 just in case (patch over a vanilla WOTL ISO and replace the previous version in your game collection). I'll post a reply explaining the bug in more detail for those who are interested. LION TWEAKS ZIP UPDATEI normally wouldn't do a full post for an incremental update like this one (from v2.00 to v2.01), but this one has an important PSA: there was a rare but nasty bug in v2.00 that could prevent you from starting the side quests in chapter 4. My QoL mod for War of the Lions has been updated to v2.01. LION TWEAKS ZIP ARCHIVEIf you want to opt out of that feature, you can redownload the archive (it's still v2.01) and use the patch file of your choosing to turn on or off either of the two optional features! Nothing else in the mod changed, so if you're happy with Smart Encounters turned on, then you don't need to take any action. EDIT: Multiple people requested that I make "Smart Encounters" (only fight random battles when you want to) an optional feature, so I have done just that. ![]()
